"Claire Bloom (Finchley (Londen), 15 februari 1931), geboren als Patricia Claire Blume, is een Brits actrice. Bloom werd geboren in Finchley als dochter van Elizabeth Grew en Edward Max Blume, haar grootouders waren Joodse immigranten uit Hrodna. Zij doorliep haar middelbare school aan de Badminton School in Bristol. Hierna heeft zij het acteren geleerd aan de Guildhall School of Music and Drama en aan de Central School of Speech and Drama, beide in Londen. Bloom was van 1959 tot en met 1969 getrouwd met Rod Steiger met wie zij een kind heeft. Van 1969 tot en met 1972 was zij getrouwd met Hillard Elkins en van 1990 tot en met 1995 was zij getrouwd met Philip Roth.

His clashes with leading New York socialists over the question of US entry into World War I would reshape the American left for the next fifty years.
