Op basis van de prestigieuze awards had ik veel meer verwacht van dit verhaal. Uiteindelijk vond ik het grotendeels op het saaie af, de vele afgezaagde vrouwonvriendelijke en racistische verhaalelementen werden irritant ook al waren ze wellicht relevant gezien het tijdperk. Ook het gratuite integreren van bekende personen in het verhaal zoals Sabiha Gokcen kwam geforceerd over. Tegenvaller.
