In dit boek geeft Karen Ehman veel praktische tips hoe je goed kan doen voor andere mensen. Meestal begint ze een hoofdstuk met een persoonlijk voorval uit haar eigen gezin. Daarna volgen praktische tips waarvan je sommige vast al kent en een enkele voor Nederlandse begrippen een beetje raar is. Er staan echter ook nieuwe ideeen tussen. Hierbij komen verschillende situaties aan bod, zoals 'heartdrops', onverwachte gasten en mensen die beroepsmatig contact met je hebben. Voor iedereen die niet alleen wil bidden en Bijbel lezen, maar het geloof ook wil leven: "want geloof zonder daden is dood". Het boek is soepel geschreven en ook leesbaar als Engels niet je moedertaal is.
