This phrase was not part of the original speech that Mariano Rajoy had prepared for what was to be his last speech as President, on June 1, 2018. Improvised during the trip to the Congress of Deputies and the result of the emotions he felt at the moment, it summarizes perfectly the spirit of this book. A Better Spain is the personal chronicle of his time as Head of the Executive and an essential testimony to understand the decisive events of the years in which Spain faced very complex difficulties, such as the threats of the bailout, the abdication of the king or the Catalan crisis, matters that occupy a prominent place in the its pages.
